Matcha Brown Butter Cookies

Kick off Spring right with the perfect dessert featuring a sweet and slightly earthly taste.

Ingredients

  • 2 C AP Flour

  • 1 t Baking Powder

  • 1/2 t salt

  • 2 T Matcha Powder

  • 1 C Packed Light Brown SUgar

  • 1/2 C Granulated Sugar

  • 2 eggs (room temperature)

  • 2 t Vanilla Extract

  • 1 C White Chocolate Chips/ Baking Melts

Procedure

  • Brown the butter. Melt butter over a medium burner and continue to stir as bubbles form. Allow butter to foam and grow saturated in color until a warm gold is achieved. Set aside to cool in a heat-safe bowl.

  • In the meantime, whisk to combine flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.

  • Stir in both sugars to the butter until homogenous. Add room temperature eggs and vanilla extract, stir.

  • Allow the dough to cool in the fridge for 1 hour.

  • Line two baking sheets and preheat the oven to 350° F. Use an ice cream scoop to form uniform balls of dough, placing two inches apart on the baking sheets. Press the cookies slightly, encouraging them to spread out evenly while baking.

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges become golden brown. Melt chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments until loose ribbons form.

  • Allow the cookies to cool out of the oven and get a spoon. Drizzle white chocolate onto the cookies, or dip and cover the cookies entirely for a satisfying, snappy shell!

  • Enjoy!
