About Inside

Inside 238 is a hub for delicious recipes and provides a glimpse into what it may be like to have an eating disorder. My hope is to help in the understanding of the complexity of EDs by sharing my experience and tips that have helped me combat it. Don't get it twisted though, my love for food never faded. Neither did its unique ability to bring people together and widen smiles. While it may be scary, join me as I fight back one delicious recipe at a time. If I can do it, I'm confident you can too! No matter your relationship with food, our love language of baking and cooking is something you deserve to share in. Come inside with us as we share the aromas that graciously waft through our home, the flavors that dance on our tongues, and the memories and laughs that keep smiles on our faces.

Where it all began

Cooking is a love passed down by our family. The spinach pie my Nona made my mom, and she makes for me, is a recipe passed down for generations that pays homage to our Greek heritage. Sharyn's Greek background, and Fran's El Salvadorian and Greek ancestry originally got them into cooking, and by extension, a love for the craft grew in me, too. While my mom's earliest memory of me in the kitchen is me falling into the recycling bin, mine is combining random spices and oils in my Bob-the- Builder bowl with Ben, creating "potions" and "sauces" which I could call my very own.
